My cats have a tendency to walk on top of the trash bin and the cardboard version wasnt holding up. This plastic bin solved that issue and works great. Its is a bit expensive considering its just plastic box but its a worthwhile upgrade for me

The plastic waste bin seems to work a bit better than the cardboard one. I am keeping the cardboard one just as a backup but the plastic one is a bit heavier and the lid seems to make a tighter connection.

I ordered popur robot about rwo month ago and very happy with my choyce. Easy to clean, what need do it very rare, because never get very dirty. Open top, what is better for my cats, they like it much. Now I ordered a waist box, because I like to wash it time to time. I have 8 cats, and all of them like popur better than. Little robot.

I ordered plastic box and get cardboard boxes. So I order a $70 item and get sent the $30 boxes?

My cats absolutely refuse to go on a closed in litterbox, even if it's the last clean one in the house so that rules out almost all other litterrobots. I am so happy that this product is safe, sturdy, fit for use and working great. My cats and me love it!

I have to say I love my new Popur! I love my kitties but just hate litter boxes! POPUR has taken care of that for me. The box has run seamlessly and worked fine with the cardboard box. I just didn’t like the idea of the cardboard possibly getting wet. So I ordered the plastic waste bin which is a pretty solid plastic box. Once it was in place, it is a perfect match to the machine and seems to me that it should be included in the initial purchase of the cat box. If I remember right, the cardboard replacement is $30 and the plastic one is $70. $30 for a cardboard box, really?! It’s paper! One other thing is when I switched from cardboard to the plastic bin, I began to get notices that the bin was full when it had nothing in it. After several adjustments with no success, I rebooted the system on the app and then unplugged it for about 5 minutes, plugged it back in and it reset itself and has ran fine since then. So I do like the plastic bin a lot better but it should be included as part of the initial purchase. The box was also delivered within 5 days of placing my order. I AM rather pleased with the whole system though! My two cats started using it immediately and I’ve gotten rid of all the old cat box stuff within a month while we made the change. They were pretty much solely using the POPUR by day 5.

This review will encompasses the popur litter box and the new redesigned plastic litter bin. We have owned the litter box for over a year and the new plastic waste bin for over 3 months. I wanted to make sure everything was working and how well or not it worked to give an accurate review.

We were kickstarter backers and purchased a popur kitty litter box with the original trash bin which attached to the litter box using magnets. The litter box has been a huge upgrade over a standard scoop litter box. I can not compare this to other mechanical litter boxes, but this purchase was a game changer for us. My wife reminds me about once a month that it was a very good purchase.

What we like: #1) The open design has restricted or prevented any of the 3 cats from using the litter box. No feline anxiety. #2) The plastic waste bin did a pretty good job reducing to minimizing odor from the cat waste. When the bid opens for dumping is the only time we notice it. #3) The litter box functions well and does a good job of clearing waste from the litter. #4) we had an issue with our unit, but popur support always got back with us within a couple of days and helped resolve the issues.

One issue we had just recently was that the plastic waste bin stopped opening / malfunctioned. Huge problem. We were on vacation and came back to a horrific odor in the house. We cleaned out the litter and discovered the bin not opening or opening at the incorrect time. Apparently there waa a wiring issue that failed with the original design. That said, popur redesigned the litter waste bin.

We contacted popur and the sent us the new cardboard waste bin under our warranty. I preferred the plastic bin but it was not available yet. The new bin arrived with a redesigned opening mechanism that is interchangeable /replaceable with the new waste bins.

The design of the new waste bin but it just slides under the main litter box. It does the job, but i have it next to an 85 gallon fish tank. We felt more comfortable having the plastic bin in case there was ever a flood from the fish tank. (It actually happened once when a water filter line broke and flooded my floor). The cardboard bin is sturdy enough, but as I said...

We ordered the plastic waste bin and once it came we switched it out with the cardboard bin. It also slides under the popur kitty litter box like the cardboard one. I like the magnets, buf maybe thats just me. The design is identical to the cardboard waste bin, however we quickly notice a couple of differences. #1) The mechanised opener opener fit a little better in the platic and it opened and closed more securely therby reducing the waste odor better than than the plastic waste bin. #2) you can supposedly use multiple bags but we only use 1 because it gives us a more secure seal and after all, a better seal and a better fit equals a greater reduction of cat waste odor... and I am very sensitive to that. The plastic waste bin is definitely the way to go. Worth the extra cost in my opinion.

That said, we are very happy with our purchase and glad we decided to make the purchase. Hope this helps those of you who are considering an automatic litter box and the plastic waste bin

Much better than the cardboard . Works well.

It's way more sturdy than the cardboard but it doesn't keep the odor in at all. The cardboard one was damaged during a move, though eh I'll upgrade... Is it worth $70? No. Not when you spent $$$ on the literbox and should be included. Would I buy it again? No. I can't believe I'm saying this but I want the cardboard one back. The lid doesn't fully close. Nothing I can do to make it sit better. If I could give 0 Stars I would.

I like the fact that this box is magnetized and snugs up against the main unit. The cardboard box has Velcro to attach to the unit at the bottom. I felt like the cardboard held the litter smell. This one I can wash!

I absolutely love it. The plastic bin makes it easier and it seals tighter.

The whole system works very very well. The plastic trash bin is the only way to go making things pretty seamless.

I think the trash bin is good and solid. It closes well and stops the smell. I just wish the bags were compostable.

The plastic trash bin is much more durable than the cardboard bin. My cats would walk on the cardboard one and it would get stuck closed. Hasn't happened with the new plastic bin.

It was good decision to opt for the plastic bin because the cardboard one was too soft and not stable enough. I would recommend if you buy x5 self cleaning machine to get the plastic bin for it.

Much needed upgrade from the paper box!!!

I had a code pop up that I could not identify. I had recently ordered a plastic bin that came in and they asked how I liked it. I loved it, but my question was how do I get my pooper to work again it turned out the code was not what I thought and it was just it was too heavy on the very front so customer support is awesome. I love my pooper thank you.

Device works as designed. App constantly shows the unit disconnected from wifi but when i check the physical machine it shows connected.

Although the provided cardboard box held up,the plastic one makes changing the bag so much easier. It is a game changer

My cardboard box was getting worn. They upgraded plastic box is the perfect replacement! Arrived quickly and it’s exactly what we needed.

Perfekt und stabil

It took an entire week to have it operate properly. At first, it would not connect to the Wi-Fi, when it finally did, it kept showing it was full! There was absolutely nothing in it.
After reloading at least 8 times, and starting completely over, still not working. Finally, on its own it decided to work properly. It continues to work as expected.
