I like the Popur. It performs similarly to the litter robot, but can go longer between changings and allows my cat to be upright instead of trapped/cramped. Smells have decreased significantly. I like that they had the foresight/thoughtfulness to include a scooper. I only have a couple of small complaints. The first is the trash can stays open for too long when the box is filtering. A great waft of cat waste smell drifts through the room when the litter box changes, and lingers for a good 5-10 minutes. I think this could be resolved if the waste box stayed open for less time, or if the design was modified so that the waste box wasn't exposed to open air. I also wish the buttons/plugs were on the front of the box instead of the side. Because the buttons are on the side, I have to keep the box facing the wall instead of outwards, which is probably annoying for my cat to have to clim over other things to get to it. And I wish the trash can came attached (I know some people opt for cardboard, but honestly, would anyone NOT buy the box because it came with a plastic wastebin instead of a cardboard one?) But generally happy with it! I would recommend it to friends.

We’ve had the Litter Robot 3 for a few years, and it’s been fine. My gripes were that we had to use clay litter when we wanted to switch to pellets, it’s terrible to take apart and sanitize, the sensors easily get blocked and interrupt cleaning cycles, and our 5 month old Maine coon is already getting too big for it (anticipated) and was brushing against the sides of the globe where waste falls into the drawer during a cleaning cycle (yuck!). Popur solved all these issues. The only problem I’ve had was that the sifting screen never stopped during a cleaning cycle for our 4 pound kitten, even when I tried to hold the screen back, which I heard was a problem. We turn off auto cycle at night and monitor during the day and night change this once our kittens are heavier. We’re also keeping an eye on the liner’s waterproof-ness (also heard problems with this), but so far, our litter has prevented any waste from penetrating deep enough to weigh in on that.
Tl;dr: Would recommend Popur over LR3 to anyone wanting an auto litter box.

The only thing g I wish was different would be it being able to tell if a cat just jumped in and back out or it it actually used the box
