Popur X5 Core Bundle (Pre-Order in USA)

I’ve had the Popur litter box for about a month now, and overall I’m very happy with this purchase.

It has been a huge time saver not having to scoop multiple litter boxes every day. I put off buying an automatic litter box for years because of the price, but I’m glad I finally made the jump—and even happier that I chose Popur. Compared to other automatic litter boxes, it was one of the more affordable options, and the open-top design was exactly what both I and my cats wanted.

Performance-wise, it works great. The cleaning function does what it’s supposed to, and it has made litter box maintenance significantly easier.

That said, there are definitely some areas that could be improved—mainly the setup process and user guide.

The user guide is honestly pretty lackluster. The setup instructions rely heavily on graphics with very little written explanation, which made initial setup much more confusing than it needed to be. Real photos and clearer written instructions would make a huge difference for first-time users.

A few examples:

* There are no clear instructions for pausing the litter box while removing the grate and liner for cleaning. I had to guess how many times to press the power button, and instead of pausing, it kept restarting full cleaning cycles.
* The guide only shows pictures of the waste container attaching to the unit, but doesn’t clearly explain that it simply pushes into place and does not click or latch. I spent way too long worrying I had missed a button or locking mechanism.
* The directions for placing the waste bags in the poop container were also vague. More written explanation would help reassure users that the bag placement doesn’t need to be perfect.

The “litter catcher” should just be renamed as a ramp. It does not do anything to catch the litter but I purchased it because my older cats can no longer jump or get up on high things. I would love the option of steps with a platform at the top for them to safely get in and out of the machine. I really want to purchase a second machine but have not done that yet because my senior cat is still not using the current one. And I believe it’s mostly because of the height issue.

For first-time automatic litter box users, words matter. Clear explanations would save customers a lot of frustration. I ended up spending a ridiculous amount of time watching videos and searching Reddit just to confirm I had set everything up correctly.

I also think the guide should include important operational details, such as the fact that the Popur runs an automatic cleaning cycle every hour—even if a cat hasn’t used it.

As for the design, I really like the overall footprint and space-saving size. My only complaint is that I wish it were slightly wider. I have long cats, and they tend to turn sideways when they poop, which means waste sometimes ends up on the side walls. Unfortunately, it can get stuck in the grate and around the screw areas when removing the grate for cleaning.

Overall, despite the frustrating setup experience and a few design quirks, I’m incredibly happy with this purchase. Once it’s up and running, it works well and saves a ton of time. If Popur improved the user guide and setup instructions, this would easily be an even better experience.

I have two of these litter boxes and I absolutely love them. However my more recent purchase has been very glitchy and I had to reboot it often. I have had a code of 2UH6 for a while and have exhausted all troubleshooting efforts with negative results. I understand sometimes things just don't work right but I would like the company to make it right. There is a one year warranty but nothing on the website about how to get a warranty repair or replacement. Please help.

The toilet works perfectly fine and i love that its open. Its so much better for my bigger cat. The app often disconnets from the wifi tho. But i just see it as an little extra. Sadly my cat is still only *sometimes* peeing in the toilet. i was hoping he would stop peeing in the bathtub but i guess he just loves it too much :D

works great! we were worried about how long it would take for our cat Andromeda to adjust to this. Set it up, added kitty litter, turned around to put the litter back in the cupboard, and she was already using it!

WOW. Five cats. No odor. Had to empty the bin at the six day mark but that’s a lot of poop!

Very happy with the function, design and setup. I love that it's an open square box and my skittish cat accepted it immediately. My cat also has chronic diarrhea and its amazing how little smearing is happening (I'm using Boxi clay litter). I was worried about the soft bottom since my cat does go scratch around a lot, but hasn't damaged or soiled the bottom. This is my first automated litter box andI'm so happy with this decision. I looooove coming home and there is no smell or work waiting because the litter box is clean!

I like that this is an open auto box but struggling with the mess that comes with it. My least favorite part of auto litter boxes is the sifter getting gross and my cats rubbing against it. This box also has this issue as well as the dumping mechanism for some reason is leaving mess in the back of the box. I wish they had a flap that covered the sifter or it set back just a bit so my cats aren’t rubbing up against what gets stuck to it. I have to manually scoop and clean the sifter several time a day to avoid this issue which feels like it defeats the purpose of a pricier box.

I am very pleased with this. One of my cats took to it immediately and the other took a few days. There is minimal odor when the disposal container opens. Support is great. The only drawback I can see is that the app could be more robust. I would like to know when a cat is using it.

Having a kitten who is going to be huge means lots of poop. It’s been great not having to scoop litter daily. Just ordered the new model so I can replace his second box!

Love how easy it is to clean and maintain! Might be getting a second one for our house!

This is my seacond Popur, gave the first one away with my cat, and when i had the chance to get another cat i had to have another, such peace of mind knowing my furrballs always have a clean bed of litter.

I have bought 2 other litter robots in search of the perfect one. Finally, I believe I have found it. Large tray area for my big boy. No litter wastage due to the design in how it cleans, just genius. Yes it is dearer than others, just try it you will see it is worth it. Any one want to buy 2 slightly used little robots..

I enjoy the litter box and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I have 2 cats (8 and 16 yo) and both accepted it from day one. Really convenient to clean the litter box once every 10 -12 days. Does not smell.
What is still not working properly:
- the weighting of cats. No data read for the wight of my cats from day one. Tried to create cats' profile, added the exact weight, to help recognize them. Still no results. This functionality does not work.
- the litter box is on the Asian time. I could not set it to my European timezone. Sure, it is connected to wifi, I have the latest firmware, reset it and rebooted it dozens of times, still no adjustment.
I cannot find answers to these questions/ problems online.

This has been a great experience.
The instructions could have been a little more clear. My cats had no issues adapting and are loving the constant clean box!
Old school litter boxes will not be returning to our home!

Absolutely fabulous not to be rummaging in dirty cat tray twice a day. Love the Popur.

We’ve had the Litter Robot 3 for a few years, and it’s been fine. My gripes were that we had to use clay litter when we wanted to switch to pellets, it’s terrible to take apart and sanitize, the sensors easily get blocked and interrupt cleaning cycles, and our 5 month old Maine coon is already getting too big for it (anticipated) and was brushing against the sides of the globe where waste falls into the drawer during a cleaning cycle (yuck!). Popur solved all these issues. The only problem I’ve had was that the sifting screen never stopped during a cleaning cycle for our 4 pound kitten, even when I tried to hold the screen back, which I heard was a problem. We turn off auto cycle at night and monitor during the day and night change this once our kittens are heavier. We’re also keeping an eye on the liner’s waterproof-ness (also heard problems with this), but so far, our litter has prevented any waste from penetrating deep enough to weigh in on that.
Tl;dr: Would recommend Popur over LR3 to anyone wanting an auto litter box.

Well I do like that I don’t have to scoop every other day unlike the other litterbox and it was less wasteful as far as garbage bags and litter.
However with 3 cats it needs to be changed once a week-not a big deal.
Cons:
-litter only half the time makes it into the wastebin,the other half ends up on the floor behind it,I had to put a puppy pad underneath to catch it.
-cats get a ton of litter & pieces all over the floor meaning lots of vacuuming and it’s just very unhygienic & gross.
-my roommates cat keeps getting in while it’s in cleaning mode which means stains all over the machine,& it doesn’t stop I’m honestly surprised this cat hasn’t been hurt with all the times he’s been hit with the bars.
-constantly disconnects from internet.
-stinks all the time,even though I clean it.
I’ve had this machine a few months & hate it. I’m going back to manual. With the machine and the extra bags it was about $450 and it’s just trash. Do not purchase.

The only thing g I wish was different would be it being able to tell if a cat just jumped in and back out or it it actually used the box

The cleaning cycle works great, but there are some other things that would make it an excellent system.

The spreader is very flimsy and its removal requires tools.
The leveling of the litter after cleaning always leaves a gap of missing litter at the front of the box.
The dump box really should be connected to the main unit in some kind of locking mechanism.

Like many others, I was very hesitant to buy — comparing this to the litter robot with extensive research.

This design is MUCH better. The litter robot is so clunky and honestly intimidating to a small cat.

Pros:
- Doesn’t stick to the liner! I was surprised because my cat digs until he reaches the base to pee.
- NO SMELL! Love that there is a separate container. Truly smell proof.
- Open design. It really doesn’t look much different than a regular litter box (if you use open top). Both of my cats used it instantly!
- So easy to clean. Love that I don’t have to pull anything apart.

Cons:
- Like most said, the app is glitchy. I hope the company prioritizes an update.
- I wish the trash bags had draw strings to close it? It’s an awkward design and was annoying to take out without poop spilling
- The small crack between the waste container and litter box itself catches bits and pieces of litter. Easy to clean but still a bit gross.

Tips:
- Set it to manual while your cats adjust! I close the door while it cleans itself so they adjust to the noise of it without being fearful.
- Buy two liners! This allows you to clean the other and let it dry out completely without shutting off the litter box.
- Be conservative with litter. Box says minimum 18 lbs of litter but when I added 10lbs of pellets SOO much was wasted as it wasn’t able to catch it all. Thankfully that was a test run and I was able to dump it back in.

I do think this product deserves 5 stars and I’m very impressed. Although it needs some fixes, it seems like the company listens to these reviews and implements changes quickly. That is what matters most.
